Owner, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
I was born in the small town of Westerly, RI, lived in Connecticut, and later moved to Boston prior to moving to California in 2008. Since the age of 7yrs old I've played multiple sports from football, baseball, basketball, track & field, and bodybuilding at a variety of levels ranging from college divisions I & III to Semi Professional. I've always appreciated the team environment, support, and family like atmosphere that sports provided me. After attending Central Connecticut State University, I later attended and graduated from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI where I received my bachelor of science degree in Biology/Chemistry with a concentration in Physical Therapy. I am currently certified and specialize in the following:
- NSCA-CSCS Strength & Conditioning Specialist
- NSCA-CPT Certified Personal Trainer
- NASM Personal Trainer
- FMS Level 1 & 2
- USAKL Kettlebell Certified
- Precision Nutrition Certified (Nutrition Coaching)
- USAW Olympic Weight Lifting Certified Sport Coach
- Pre and Post Natal Programs
- Specializing in Sport Programming & Conditioning, Nutrition, Weight loss, Olympic Lifts, improving the quality of life of my clients, Baby Boomers, Functional rehab, Injury Prevention, Kettlebell Training
Knowing that I enjoyed helping people to achieve a better quality of life through fitness and being aware of certain restriction that being a physical therapist would have, I decided to jump into the fitness industry and never looked back.
Having been involved in multiple aspects of the fitness industry since 2000 (over 17yrs of experience) from university strength and conditioning, to corporate fitness/personal training and management (TSI/BSC,WSC,NYC,PSC), to specialized populations (Alzheimer's, stroke & brain trauma victims, advanced cardiac rehab, Joint replacements, Pre/Post Natal Pregnancy, and more), to training middle school to Semi Professional and Professional Athletes, I became increasingly frustrated with the poor standards our industry had to offer. Quite simply I became sick and tired of clubs where sales numbers were more important than member results and experience, customer and employee appreciation, as well as the personal training standards had become ridiculously poor and good training programs and qualified instructors were non existent.
In 2008 I took a leap of faith and decided to move to California leaving all of my family and friends on the east coast to marry my best friend and the best thing that could have ever happened to me, my amazing wife Ashley. With her love and support, all of my dreams have come true. We got married in 2010, opened Golden State Fitness & Performance in 2012,and now live in Livermore, CA with three amazing blessings, Madison Gail (6yrs), Brayden Henry (4yrs), and Tyson Kenneth (TK 2yrs).
I firmly believe that we have the best personal training facility in the Bay Area. (2015 Best of Oakland Fitness Program Award). Our TEAM and FAMILY at GSFP are attentive and knowledgeable (certified through NSCA-CSCS/NASM), we strive to offer the highest quality of service /support with the most cutting edge training methods, and customized fitness and nutrition programs that are guaranteed to get you the results you have always wanted. We train movement and know that everyone is different for different reasons. That is why we customize all of our programs and help you to move better, so you can perform the exercises more efficiently in order to apply the appropriate intensities and resistances throughout your workouts, which in turn will get you to look and feel better. Our goal is to get you to your goals and help you"Make Yourself Stronger Than Your Excuses".
It may not be the largest facility, but that just reinforces our friendly, supportive, and family like culture. You will never be lost with us. I know that you won’t find a more qualified, caring team anywhere. Our team and family here at Golden State Fitness & Performance are excited to soon meet you, and hope to have the opportunity to assist and guide you with your health, fitness, and performance needs.
We’re proud of what we do here and feel that if given a chance ,you’ll want to train and do business with us. We’ve been helping clients in this community for a number of years and are proud to be a family owned and operated business. (NO Corporate BS). We are however, one of the more expensive gyms in the area. This is by choice. Poor service, poor staff and poor member results are all part of being a cheaply priced facility. With our way of doing business, providing the highest quality of service, fitness & nutrition programming, support, and care, you are guaranteed to finally get the results you are looking for.
Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist
I graduated from the university of Colorado in 2006, and have been working in the fitness industry since 2009. I hold my NSCA-CSCS(certified strength and conditioning specialist) certification as well as my USAW. I specialize in fixing people that have restricting issues, such as shoulder impingment, low back pain, ankle issues, etc. I've trained every population, from 8 year olds to 90 year olds; I have a good understanding of how the body moves and needs to be treated. The thing I love about fitness is that the body can be molded to how YOU want it. Whatever fitness goals you have, they can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and the will to want to change. Give me a call to set up a consultation, and always remember, health is wealth.
CERTIFIED Personal Trainer
Siriji has been training for 6 years. Before beginning the journey into fitness, she coached youth rock climbing and has been an avid climber and snowboarder since age 16.
As a rock climber, I learned early on that it takes time, a lot of time sometimes, to reach the heights to which I had my sights set on. Slowly building the strength, endurance and techniques that were necessary for the rocks that were most appealing to me. It took me a few years to achieve my initial goals which were to climb a 5.12 and boulder V6. The excitement that I felt when I climbed a 5.12 and did that first V6 was so intense, I remember feeling very shaky after both routes, not because the climbing was hard, but
because I just did what I had worked so long and hard for. After that, I knew that I could do anything if I put my mind and my effort into it. Even after having setbacks from minor injuries, I know that it is possible to reach any goal with just a little patience, persistence and consistent hard work.
My training style is movement based strength training. Workouts are varied and designed to meet your individual needs and goals.
When we train movements, not muscles, we build an intrinsic and unconscious knowledge of our body's strength, power and control. Maximizing efforts in our workouts to efficiently and effectively move through life, sports activities or any physical aspects of our days.
I believe in a holistic approach to health, fitness and wellness. Training our minds and our souls is equally important for a long, healthy, vibrant life as training our physical bodies.
Health, fitness and wellness is a journey that should not ever end. It is my intention to first teach, then guide and support you along your journey. It is also my intention to walk along side you to help you find the best possible you for the rest of your life.
Building a strong body is where Siriji will begin with you. From there, the limits are boundless.

Emily’s mission is to ensure her clients leave the gym not only having safely and successfully completed a challenging workout but also feeling empowered towards living a healthier lifestyle.
Outside of training at GSFP, you can find Emily in the gym swinging kettlebells or squatting, outdoors hiking, sprinting on the rugby pitch, cooking and planning her next epic foodie adventure, or cuddling any and all cats.
My background as a competitive athlete laid the foundation for everything that’s led me to be a part of this incredible crew at GSFP. I grew up in Pleasanton playing just about every sport available, but ultimately found lacrosse after devoting most of my youth to soccer. I was lucky enough to earn myself a Division I commitment to UC Davis and ultimately graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2008.
I spent plenty of my collegiate career in the athletic training room with a number of injuries - 3 knee surgeries and a shoulder surgery by my fifth year. My experience with the rehabilitation process really forced me learn about my body, the healing and recovery process, and how important strength and mobility training was to the pre and post op experience. Since leaving college, I have had a total knee replacement and find myself now able to do things I couldn’t even do as a student-athlete.
After embarking on my own physical and mental transformation journey, I have lost 10% of my body weight and have conquered my battle with chronic depression. I am a strong advocate for total wellness - mind, body, and soul - and gain strength through connecting with others about my story. My transparency and coaching mentality set the tone for supportively challenging anyone I work with in the gym or on the field. Along with strengthening the external body, I also work with people on nourishing and fueling their bodies from the inside by providing direction on wellness and performance enhancement supplementation.
Outside of GSFP, I am passionately involved in the lacrosse culture in the Bay Area as a youth coach, governing body member, and umpire. With my new knee well broken in, I’ve found my athlete identity reignited and put to the test competing in Spartan obstacle course races. When I’m not out and about being sweaty, I’m snuggling with my pup Rocco or in auntie mode with my nieces and nephews!
